This week ENGAGE sits down with Alicia Rice (CIEE Thailand, 2008), a documentary filmmaker working in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Alicia Rice has always had a passion for art, but it has been through documentary film that she has been able to find her purpose. She loves the ability to blend film with social justice and tries to dedicate her talent towards telling people’s stories.  She looks to help continue to bridge the fields of human rights and film. Her films so far have focused on issues such as fair trade coffee, homelessness, poverty, education, and Burmese refugees.  She is always looking for new ways to learn and expand her understanding. Her newest project is a film about what it’s like to be a member of the urban poor in Khon Kaen.
